The Nifty PSU Bank index declined in the noon trade on Monday amid selling pressure seen in Punjab & Sind Bank, Indian Overseas Bank and Bank of Maharashtra.
The index is witnessing selling pressure in the early morning trade; it is down 1.4% at 2,533.30 levels currently.
Shares of Punjab & Sind Bank fell 6%, Indian Overseas Bank and Bank of Maharashtra dropped 3% each. UCO Bank, Punjab National Bank and Central Bank also slipped 2% each, followed by Bank of Baroda and SBI, which were down 1%.
Shares of J&K Bank and Indian Bank were slightly lower in the PSU Banking index.
Meanwhile, the Nifty50 index is down 15 points at 12,231 and the Sensex is lower by 50 points at 41,525.
