Live Stock Market Updates: Bulls continue to dominate; Hindustan Zinc pares early morning gains

Hindustan Zinc is the much talked about stock in the morning hours on Thursday. The stock is the biggest contributor to the BSE Metal index gains. The stock touched its intraday high of Rs 322.10 per share, up by Rs 10.4 per share or 3.3% on BSE.

Hindustan Zinc for the financial year 2016-2017 has announced one-time interim dividend of Rs 13,985 crore, on Wednesday. The central government against its 29% stake will get Rs 11,259 crore.
 

The dividends being paid out by the Company are the highest ever paid in a financial year in India.

There are 1171 advances, 334 declines and 409 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting strong positivity floating in the market.

At 10:00 AM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 29244 up 77 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 9054 up 24 points. A total of 30 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 20 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading up 0.6% at 13804, whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.8% at 14006.

All the sectoral indices on BSE are trading in positive territory except BSE FMCG index. FMCG heavyweight, ITC Limited is dragging the index.

GAIL, L&T, Idea, Wipro and Tata Motors are among the gainers, whereas ITC, Bank of Baroda, Eicher Motors, Bosch Limited and BHEL are losing sheen on NSE in the first trading hour.
